Simon Krattinger
Simon Krattinger is an Associate Professor of Plant Science and Chair of the Plant Science Program at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. His research makes use of the latest technological advancements in genomics to understand wheat evolution and biotic stress resistance.
Summary:
The cultivation of cereal crops has been tightly interwoven with human history and culture. In this presentation, I will focus on the composition and evolution of the bread wheat D genome, describing its complex evolutionary history that was shaped by early agricultural practices and human migration.
